*** Ford is investing $5 billion to ramp up its electric vehicle (EV) production, specifically targeting the development of a new, affordable midsize electric pickup truck. This investment will create or secure approximately 4,000 jobs across its Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky and BlueOval Battery Park in Michigan. The new EV, expected to be priced around $30,000, will utilize a new Ford Universal EV Platform and is slated for launch in 2027.

Important Note: While EV battery fires are a serious concern after saltwater flooding, statistics show that the overall fire risk from EVs is still lower than that of gasoline-powered vehicles.
