Japan's reconstruction minister resigns

Japanâ€™s reconstruction minister stepped down on Dec 27, becoming the fourth member to leave Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's Cabinet since the previous reshuffle in August. Kenya Akiba will be replaced by Hiromichi Watanabe, who had held the post in 2019. Mr Kishida said he has no immediate plans for another Cabinet reshuffle.
