They’ve been called the “**** Hunting Club” — a shadowy Kurdish counter-terrorism unit forged in mountain warfare, trained by the CIA, and battle-hardened against terror groups. This is the story of the Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) of Kurdistan.

Formed in 2002 to take on Ansar al-Islam, CTG has grown into one of the most feared and capable counterterrorism forces in the Middle East. Based in Sulaymaniyah and supported by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), they combine intelligence, surveillance, and direct action with the authority to operate across Iraqi Kurdistan and beyond.

From Operation Viking Hammer with U.S. Special Forces, to **** raids in Mosul and Kirkuk, to their rumored role in the assassination of Qassem Soleimani — CTG’s reach goes far beyond its size. Equipped with U.S. training and elite tactics, they remain the silent shield protecting Kurdistan against terrorism.

If you’re interested in special forces, counterterrorism, and the secret war on terror, this is one unit you need to know about.
