In a wide-ranging interview with CNAâ€™s Asia First, US ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel spoke about recent global developments, including Russiaâ€™s air attacks in Ukraine just as Chinese President Xi Jinping departed Russia following a three-day visit. The talks between the two leaders involved a peace plan to resolve the war in Ukraine.

Mr Emanuel, who was also chief of staff to former US President Barack Obama, said that current US President Joe Bidenâ€™s approach has been to energise alliances in the Indo-Pacific region to work together.
