This interview forms part of an event hosted by the Journal of the Oxford Graduate Theology Society as part of our forthcoming edition on the theme of 'Theology, Religion and Crisis'. It is a conversation with historian and anthropologist Professor Alan Macfarlane led by Natasha Chawla, Time Middleton and James Lorenz from the JOGTS Editorial Board. We discuss his experience of crisis and modernity, based on Magic and Modernity, the first part of an autobiographical series to be released in the summer of 2021.
