First Liberian Civil war. Le Liberia depuis sa creation par des anciens esclaves libres venus des Etats Unis, une poignee d'Americano - Liberiens controle le pouvoir politique et economique dans un pays ou la majorite indigene est exploitee notamment dans les plantations d'heveas. La fin de cette societe a deux vitesses sera tragique marquee par par l'assassinat du President William Tolbert en Avril 1980 et une longue guerre civiles dans les annees 1980. pres de 70.000 personnes tuees en Sierra Leone, 200.000 on perdu la vie au Liberia.
In 1820, a group of about eighty African Americans reversed the course of history and sailed back to Africa, to a place they would name Liberia. The first black republic of Africa was born in 1847. But Liberia alone with Sierra Leone went through more than 10 years civil wars in 1989: About 70.000 people killed in Sierra Leone; 200,000 lost their lives in Liberia.
