The Folly Of Claiming That Works Always Follow Faith | James 2 | Sermon Excerpt

Many people who do not want to believe that salvation is by faith alone in the finished work of Christ, say that works will always automatically follow faith. They claim to believe in salvation by faith alone, but then turn around and say that if you don't have works then you were never really saved. This is works salvation, and my friend if you're reading this description and believe that, you need to change what you believe because otherwise you're going to be cast into the lake of fire to burn in hell for your sins for all of eternity.

To say that works always follow faith is to say that a person without works is not saved. If a person without works is not saved, then that person needs to good works otherwise they're not saved, and thus they need to do good works to be saved. That's works salvation no matter which way you slice it.

Be not deceived. God is not going to fall for that on Judgement Day. God knows whether you're trusting your works to secure your place in Heaven or not. If you are trusting in your works, please reconsider, because this is going to be your eternal fate:

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
