I noticed there are quite a few people experiencing shingles after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. There has been an association with the vaccine and various skin manifestations, including conditions like diffuse erythematous eruptions, urticaria, and chickenpox-like vesicles.

The Johnson and Johnson vaccine doesn't seem to have any reports of any outbreaks of shingles. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine uses traditional virus-based technology. But, the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines use mRNA. So, it appears the shingles outbreaks are more related to the mRNA rather than the traditional virus-based technology.

After the vaccine, the person is going to have a lowered immune system for about 2-3 weeks as the immune system is resting and generating its antibodies. Some people also have a weakened immune system before getting the vaccine, which could add a layer of complexity to the immune reaction.

On top of that, many people have either had chickenpox or have had the chickenpox vaccine. This means that they have the dormant virus in their body that could potentially be reactivated by the vaccine and a weakened immune system.
