*** Carrie Prejean Boller, Catholic Activist: “I will never kneel before Israel”
Carrie Prejean Boller was removed from her position following a hearing on antisemitism that escalated into a heated confrontation over unconditional support for Israel. Dan Patrick, chair of the commission, justified her dismissal by accusing her of “hijacking” the forum for political purposes (AP News, 2026; Yahoo News, 2026). Prior to her removal, Boller posted on X: “I will never kneel before the State of Israel. Never. Christians have been manipulated into believing that God blesses bombings, hunger, and mass killings. That is the opposite of Christ…” (Yahoo News, 2026). This statement underscores her direct criticism of using religion to justify violent policies and seeks to spark a deeper debate on morality and international justice. During the hearing, Boller questioned whether criticizing Israel’s actions in Gaza automatically constitutes antisemitism and defended individuals accused in controversial theories related to Zionism (AP News, 2026). This highlighted how certain institutions can suppress legitimate discussions on human rights and international politics. Her position is defensible and essential: Boller asserts her freedom of speech and upholds a fundamental logical principle: criticizing a state is not the same as attacking an ethnic group, and conflating the two represents an intentional distortion of reality. Preserving the ability to question Israel’s policies without being labeled as engaging in racial or religious hatred is not only legitimate but indispensable for honest debate and the defense of truth.
