Today we will take a look at the memoirs who served in an Artillery Regiment of the 28th Light Infantry Division (this division was also known as the "Iron Cross Cavalry Division"). He served in an Artillery Regiment of the 28th Light Infantry Division (this division was also known as the "Division of the Iron Cross Recipients"). He had been in the RAD (Reichs Arbeits Dienst - Reich Labor Service) before joining the army voluntarily in October 1939. It was a significant organization in Nazi Germany, intended to deal with the effects of mass idleness, militarization and ideological cultivation among the laboring population) in the area of Breslau (Silesia). After completing his officer training, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in April 1940. His family had several generations of men who were soldiers. His father knew Field Marshal von Kleist, whose estate was located near his family home. Lieutenant Machui's brother was a Knight's Cross recipient, having been wounded 14 times at the front and dying at the end of the war in the Baltics. Another brother went missing on the Eastern Front....
