The Sea People are a mysterious seafaring confederation that attacked ancient Egypt and other regions in the East Mediterranean prior to and during the Late Bronze Age collapse. The origins of the Sea Peoples is undocumented, although the Great Karnak inscription of the Pharaoh Merneptah states that at least three of the Sea Peoples (Ekwesh, Sheklesh and Sherden) were circumcised.
