US President Donald Trump accused Congress of becoming antisemitic during a White House Hanukkah reception and argued pro Israel influence in Washington had weakened. He later singled out progressive Democrats critical of Israel while reaffirming support for Jewish Americans and citing pro Israel policies.

His remarks followed the Bondi Beach attack in Sydney. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Western governments to act against antisemitism and blamed Australian authorities. Australia rejected the claim and said the attack was motivated by extremist ideology.
