year is 2019. Lincoln Six-Echo (Ewen McGregor) resides in a seemingly utopian but highly controlled and contained facility. Like the other inhabitants there, Lincoln hopes to be chosen by lottery to go to the â€œThe Islandâ€ - reportedly the last uncontaminated place on the planet. Lincoln soon discovers that everything about his existence has been a lie and escapes with his companion, Jordan Two Delta (Scarlett Johansson).
