Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi: popularly known as the dictator of Libya, was a revolutionary leader and politician who controlled Libya for 42 years. In his four decades of being in power, he brought several changes to the Libyan government. He first served as the Revolutionary Chairman of the Libyan Arab Republic from 1969 to 1977 and later served as the ‘Brother Leader’ of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya from 1977 to 2011.
