India and Canada ties have taken a turn for the worst, and the reason for this growing tension is the rise of Khalistani sentiment in Canada. As per media reports, the Indian government has asked Canada to repatriate dozens of diplomats from the country by October 10. Ottawa has been told by New Delhi that it must repatriate roughly 40 diplomats by October 10, the report said. Canada has 62 diplomats in India and India had said the total should be reduced by 41, according to reports.
