"The German Empire".
After the German Empire lost WW1, Wilhelm II was deposed and had to flee to the Netherlands.
There he was granted asylum, thereby avoiding execution on false charges demanded by the Entente.
He spent the rest of his life at Dorn Castle and hoped to return to his homeland, until his death on June 4, 1941.
